Ciera grew up a stone’s throw away from the Monterey Peninsula in Hollister. Her household was nothing out of the ordinary; she always had cats and an aquarium tank full of fish.
Ciera’s specific career aspirations varied as she aged but they always held a common thread – animals. Ciera volunteered for several years at the Monterey Bay Aquarium as a docent and working behind-the-scenes with the river otters and seahorses. She also attended Humboldt State University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology. Ciera serves on the Board of Directors for the California Council for Wildlife Rehabilitators.
Ciera started at the SPCA for Monterey County as a Wildlife Rehabilitation Technician in 2013 and has been the Wildlife Center Manager since 2020. She is thrilled to have found a career that allows her to work closely with native wildlife. She enjoys giving injured and orphaned wildlife a second chance they deserve, and sharing that passion with others.
Ciera shares her home with her wife, three children, and two dogs.
