Dawn Fenton is grateful to have a career that allows her to share her love for animals with her community.

Dawn has an MFA in Acting and Directing from California State University, Long Beach.  She joined The SPCA in 2008 after working as an adjunct faculty member in the Theatre Department at Hartnell College and as a resident actor with The Western Stage.   

Dawn grew up in Lake Villa, Illinois and her earliest memories are mostly of her first best friend, a wire-haired fox terrier named Harvey who belonged to her grandparents.   In his own way, Harvey taught her that she valued kindness, loyalty, and empathy.  She never forgot his lessons.

 Dawn, her husband Scott, and her stepdaughter Jamie have two small, silly terriers and one giant polar bear - oops! - giant puppy that they cater to and adore.
